Are headaches normal during a colon cleanse or total body detox?

Love4Life asked:

I’m currently using Symmetry Botanacleanse. I’m on day two of the 11 day program, and for the last 2 days, I’ve had a mild, but ongoing headache. I haven’t taken any pain killers, as I’m afraid it may cause the Botanacleanse to become ineffective…thanks in advance for your help!!!
Also – I did read the instructions and researched the product, but didn’t see a list of side effects such as headache and low grade fever. Thanks to all of you that are providing helpful answers, but for those of you who like to be smart-a**es, cockiness and sarcasm is not neccessary, and I would appreciate it if you would not comment at all…

    resveratrol

The headache is your body’s way of telling you that you’re not eating, or giving it what it needs. It’s going to persist until you eat something. Staying hydrated will help it some, but not a whole lot.
If you’re going to persist with the fast, your headache is going to stick right with you too.

    free acai berries

With a body cleanse it is important to make sure you are staying hydrated. Are you drinking enough water?

The headache could very well be a result of lack of hydration.

And if you do choose to take pain killers, you really must take them with water to protect your stomach lining and liver.

With that said, your body has its own way of detoxing healthily, and it doesn’t cause headaches. Body cleanses and detoxes tend to be a way for companies to make money, but are not helpful or necessary. Especially long-term.
